11 New Private Varsities Get NUC Approval
The National Universities Commission will today issue provisional licenses to 11 newly approved private universities, pushing the total number of licensed private institutions in Nigeria to 159.
This move marks a continuation of the Commission’s regulatory activities despite a temporary government pause on new approvals earlier this year.
The Federal Government had suspended the licensing of new private universities but allowed ongoing applications that had reached advanced stages to be considered if they fulfilled all requirements.
A brief notice from the Commission confirmed that the official presentation of licenses will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the NUC auditorium in Abuja.
