TCN Restores Power Line Vandalised in March
After a month of power outages in parts of the South-South, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored electricity supply to Bayelsa and parts of Rivers State.
This comes following the completion of repair works on the vandalised 132kV Owerri-Ahoada transmission line.
TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, confirmed in a statement on Monday that the line was successfully reconnected to the national grid on April 11 at around 6 p.m.

The power cut was the result of a March 11 attack on the line, during which four transmission towers numbered 71 to 74 were destroyed.
The damage led to a blackout in areas served by the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC).
With the restoration, PHEDC is now back to supplying electricity to affected communities.
Mbah noted that TCN remains committed to delivering stable electricity nationwide and called on local communities to help protect power infrastructure from acts of vandalism, which she said continue to pose a serious threat to reliable service.
