The CAC explained that it issues compliance notices regularly, but this latest alert responds to increasing reports of fraudulent firms across the country.

It urged Nigerians to verify business names and registration numbers through the CAC portal before making payments or signing agreements.

The commission added that requesting incorporation documents, avoiding unverifiable companies, and reporting suspicious cases to the CAC or security agencies will help protect members of the public from fraud carried out under fake corporate identities.
