UNIBEN MACSA Hosts “Empower A MACSAN Conference 2025” to Inspire Student Growth
The Vice President’s office of the Mass Communication Students Association (MACSA), University of Benin, Ekehuan Campus, in collaboration with the Legacy Era Executives, has successfully hosted the second edition of the Empower A MACSAN Conference 2025.
Held at the 500 Lecture Theatre and themed The Mind Shift Workshop, the conference brought together students and industry professionals to explore topics around personal development and career success.
The event featured scholarship awards, business empowerment sessions, giveaways, and musical performances, creating a dynamic and engaging atmosphere for participants.

Distinguished guest speakers included journalist and education rights activist Godsent Ogbebor; Edo Broadcasting Service presenter and admin officer Faith Iyaluegbe; digital marketer Joshua Olaoluwa; and student journalist Precious Ukuenyenden. They shared insights from their professional journeys and encouraged students to apply practical skills in real-world contexts.
Godsent Ogbebor, one of the organisers of the inaugural EMC programme, praised the event’s impact, calling it “a huge success” and urging students to put their newfound knowledge to practical use.

Describing her experience as “mind-blowing,” Faith Iyaluegbe emphasised the importance of more initiatives like EMC to support students’ development. “I hope more initiatives will empower students and foster their growth,” she said.
Students were visibly inspired by the event. Esther Ochanya, a 400-level Mass Communication student, remarked, “The Mind Shift Program taught me to prioritise value over monetary gain. It was a resounding success that gave us the tools to build a promising future.”

The Empower A MACSAN Conference 2025 reaffirmed the department’s commitment to student empowerment, equipping participants with tools and inspiration to excel in their careers and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
