JAMB Extends Direct Entry Registration Deadline Beyond April 7

By Happiness Edeawe

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has provided clarity on the 2025 Direct Entry (DE) registration deadline, stating that it will not close on Monday, April 7, 2025, as initially speculated. Instead, the registration process, which commenced on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, will continue until a new closing date is announced.

This means that interested candidates can still register at any of JAMB’s designated Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) on Monday and beyond, until the official closing date is revealed.

According to JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the extension of the registration period is aimed at allowing the Board to complete ongoing investigations into candidates who have been arrested or are under scrutiny for attempting to use fraudulent A-Level results for registration.

This move demonstrates JAMB’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of the registration process and preventing candidates with questionable credentials from participating.

JAMB strongly advises candidates with dubious credentials to refrain from registering, as the Board has implemented measures to identify individuals with such credentials.

Furthermore, the Board is expanding its investigations to include students who have already been admitted, urging those who have previously used fraudulent results to withdraw voluntarily. This stern warning underscores JAMB’s resolve to maintain the highest standards of transparency and accountability in the admission process.

The Board’s efforts to combat examination malpractice and promote fairness are commendable. By taking a firm stance against fraudulent activities, JAMB is safeguarding the interests of genuine candidates and upholding the integrity of the education system.

Candidates are encouraged to take advantage of the extended registration period to submit their applications, while also ensuring that they meet the necessary requirements and follow the laid-down procedures.

As the registration process continues, JAMB urges candidates to be vigilant and wary of fraudulent individuals who may attempt to exploit them.

The Board’s help lines and support services are available to provide guidance and assistance to candidates who may encounter difficulties during the registration process.
