Kwara Student Killed for Rituals

In a shocking incident, a final-year student of the Kwara State College of Education, Lawal Hafsoh Yetunde, has been brutally killed for ritual purposes in Ilorin, Kwara State. The victim was allegedly lured to her death by an Islamic cleric, Abdulrahman Mohad Ballo, who she met on Facebook.

The suspect, said to be the son of a prominent cleric in the Isalekoto community, is currently in police custody at the Kwara State Police Command Headquarters in Ilorin.

According to reports, Hafsoh was attending a naming ceremony when she received a phone call from a friend. She left her meal to answer the call and never returned. Her family and friends immediately began searching for her, but she was nowhere to be found.

Her father, Ibrahim Lawal, reported her missing the next day at the Oja-Oba Police Division in Ilorin.

Acting on the report, police requested Hafsoh’s phone number and tracked her last call. The investigation led officers to a suspect living in the Ofa Garage area of Ilorin. Although the suspect initially denied knowing her whereabouts, a search of his residence revealed horrifying evidence.

Police found Hafsoh’s dismembered body hidden in a bowl. Bloodied tools believed to have been used to mutilate her body were also discovered at the scene. The suspect later confessed that she had visited him but claimed she died from an asthma attack.

Police investigators believe this may not have been the suspect’s first crime, as they found additional tools commonly associated with body dismemberment on a table in his room.

The suspect allegedly connected with Hafsoh through Facebook, where he obtained her phone number and lured her to his house, ultimately leading to her tragic death.
