LASG Implements Technology to Tackle Domestic and Sexual Violence
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has rolled out two groundbreaking solutions aimed at improving access to support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence while encouraging individuals to speak out against abuse.
These initiatives are in line with the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration to provide comprehensive care and justice for victims of violence.

The first solution, Ask INU (I Need You), is a WhatsApp-based chatbot designed to offer immediate support. Survivors and concerned individuals can simply message 0812 893 7058 on WhatsApp to receive accurate, confidential, and up-to-date information about available services.
This tool is meant to empower survivors and their supporters with the knowledge they need to take action and find the right resources.
In addition, the DSVA has launched a Self-Reporting Tool through the Domestic and Sexual Violence Case Management System (DSVCMS). By visiting lagosdsvcms.org and selecting the “Report” tab, survivors or anyone mandated to report can securely submit key details of their cases.
This platform also allows users to upload vital evidence such as photos, audio, videos, or medical reports. Preserving and collecting evidence is essential to ensure that justice is served quickly and effectively.
The tool aims to help survivors safely store evidence of abuse, which could otherwise be lost, deleted, or destroyed by abusive partners. This makes it easier for survivors to access their evidence when investigations begin or when they are ready to pursue justice.
By improving the collection and safeguarding of evidence, this intervention is a crucial step in strengthening the prosecution of domestic violence cases in Lagos—a challenge the state has long faced.
Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, Executive Secretary of Lagos DSVA, emphasized that these efforts reflect the Agency’s dedication to using technology to break the silence surrounding abuse, provide easy access to support services, and hold perpetrators accountable.
With these innovations, Lagos State is taking bold steps in the fight against domestic and sexual violence, ensuring survivors receive the support and justice they deserve while working to reduce the occurrence of such violence in the future.
