Students of the University of Ibadan have expressed their gratitude to the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, for his prompt intervention in restoring electricity to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.
In a letter signed by the Student Union President, Aweda Bolaji, and General Secretary, Ogundijo Dolapo Japheth, the students commended the Minister’s dedication to improving the nation’s power sector and his support for students.
The students noted that electricity was restored to UCH within 48 hours, as promised by the Minister, and that power was also reinstated in their halls of residence.
However, the students also brought to the Minister’s attention the issue of inadequate lighting on campus, which has contributed to security concerns. They requested the Minister’s support in donating 150 solar-powered streetlights to illuminate key areas of the campus.
