Lil Nas X Faces Felony Charges After Alleged Naked Confrontation with LAPD

LOS ANGELES — Rapper and pop star Lil Nas X has been charged with four felony counts following an incident in which he allegedly confronted Los Angeles police officers while walking nude through a busy area of Studio City last week.

The Grammy-winning performer, whose legal name is Montero Hill, was taken into custody after officers responded to reports of a naked man in public. Authorities say Hill charged at responding officers before being subdued and transported to a hospital for a possible overdose. He was later arrested on suspicion of battery against law enforcement.

Court filings made public Monday indicate that Hill faces three felony counts of battery on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. His arraignment was scheduled to take place in Van Nuys later that day.

Initial video clips circulating online showed the “Old Town Road” artist wearing only cowboy boots and white underwear while walking through the neighborhood shortly before dawn. However, later footage obtained by TMZ appeared to show him fully nude.

The LAPD confirmed elements of the footage in a statement last week: “There was a nude man walking in the street. Upon arrival, the suspect charged at officers. He was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital.”

The videos, widely shared on social media, depict Hill interacting with bystanders and speaking directly to the camera. In one clip, he appears to flirt with a passerby, saying, “Don’t be late to the party tonight,” though no specific event was referenced.

At another point, Hill is seen asking a person filming from a vehicle to surrender their phone, saying, “I wanna throw it far away so you never see it again. I don’t like phones.”

“Didn’t I tell you to put the phone down?” he adds, wagging his finger playfully. “Uh-oh, somebody’s gonna have to pay for that.”

No further statements have been released by Hill or his representatives as of Monday evening.
