Miracle on Otedola Bridge: Driver Rescued After Vehicle Plummets

A harrowing incident unfolded on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the early hours of Monday when a private vehicle fell off the Otedola Bridge, sending shockwaves among commuters and passersby.

Eyewitnesses report that four people were in the car, with all occupants suffering injuries of varying severity.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident, stating that the driver was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

In a statement, LASTMA said, “Report of an accident of a car that fell from Otedola Bridge. The driver has been rescued and taken to the nearby hospital.”

The agency also noted that the crash has caused a backlog of traffic from Otedola Bridge to Berger inward Secretariat, but assured that their officers are on the scene managing the situation effectively.

This incident occurs at the same location where a devastating gas-laden truck explosion claimed at least six lives just weeks ago, raising concerns about safety measures in the area.
