NYSC Warns Corps Members Against Negative Social Media Posts
The National Youth Service Corps has cautioned Corps members against the misuse of social media, warning that negative online posts about the scheme or the country will attract sanctions.
The Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, gave the warning while addressing 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps members at the Delta State orientation camp in Issele-Uku. He urged the young graduates to use social media responsibly and to share content that promotes a positive image of the scheme and Nigeria.
He also advised Corps members to avoid unauthorised travel and to comply strictly with camp rules and regulations, stressing the importance of discipline and safety during and after the orientation exercise.

“Follow simple instructions, be obedient, go for your biometrics and participate in your Community Development Service. Learn and respect the cultural values of your host communities and do not misrepresent us at your place of primary assignment,” he told them.
The Delta State Coordinator of the scheme, John Kwaghe, said 2,101 Corps members had been deployed to the state, made up of 944 males and 1,157 females. He added that activities at the camp were running smoothly, with high levels of discipline and full participation by both officials and Corps members.
The NYSC leadership has continued to remind Corps members to uphold values such as integrity, patriotism, transparency, efficiency and commitment throughout their service year and in their future careers.
