PDP Slams ADC Over Media Attack, Declares Readiness to Defeat Tinubu in 2027
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over what it described as an unprovoked media attack, asserting its preparedness to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, described the remarks made by ADC’s interim spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, as reckless and unfounded. Ologunagba accused Abdullahi who previously served as a public relations officer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using the ADC platform to deflect attention from the APC’s failures by targeting the PDP.

“The attention of the PDP has been drawn to an unprovoked verbal assault on national television by Bolaji Abdullahi. His comments reflect frustration over the PDP’s growing momentum ahead of the 2027 elections,” the statement read.
The PDP emphasized that it remains Nigeria’s leading opposition party, boasting national presence, grassroots support, and a broad coalition of citizens committed to democratic change.
“Despite isolated defections, Nigerians continue to stand firmly with the PDP. We remain the most credible political platform capable of leading a people-oriented government and defeating President Tinubu at the polls,” the party stated.
It added that the PDP is open to alliances with like-minded individuals and groups willing to work towards rescuing Nigeria from APC’s governance.
The party also highlighted its pool of presidential hopefuls with proven leadership records and the capacity to offer meaningful change.
“Rather than engage in inter-opposition rivalry, the PDP will stay focused on constructive engagement and mobilizing Nigerians towards the 2027 mission.”
