Shock as a 15-year old Is Beheaded by Elder Brother in Ondo
Panic has gripped the Odigbo community in Ondo State following the killing of a 15-year-old boy, Emmanuel, who was allegedly beheaded by his 26-year-old elder brother, Daniel.
The tragic incident occurred on Monday evening near Origbara River, a quiet and often deserted area in the town. Residents were left horrified as news of the murder spread through the agrarian community.
According to eyewitnesses, the two brothers, sons of a respected police officer in the area were last seen walking together in a seemingly cheerful mood toward the river. However, the outing took a dark turn when a passerby reportedly spotted Daniel attempting to hide a severed human head in a bag.
Roland Akinkunmi, a resident who witnessed the commotion, said, “I was near the palace when I heard people shouting from the river area. I rushed there and saw Daniel holding a human head. I couldn’t believe it was Emmanuel, his own younger brother.”

Residents said the two siblings had recently argued, though many believe the killing might have deeper and more disturbing motives. Some locals have speculated that the act could be linked to ritual practices, as it is believed in the community that anyone who sheds human blood for such purposes will eventually be exposed.
The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the incident. The Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that the Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, has ordered an immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation.
“The Command assures the people of Ondo State that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring justice is served,” Ayanlade said.
