“Tiwa Is My Sister for Life”: Davido Pledges Protection Despite Past Rift
Afrobeats megastar Davido has reaffirmed his loyalty to fellow music icon Tiwa Savage, declaring his readiness to protect her at all costs even in the wake of a public fallout.
Speaking during a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, the Unavailable singer addressed the tension that arose between the two in early 2024, when Tiwa Savage shared a photo with Sophia Momodu—Davido’s first baby mama.
The post reportedly reignited personal tensions and culminated in Savage filing a petition alleging threats to her life.
However, Davido was quick to downplay the rift, framing it as a “brother and sister” misunderstanding. He explained that their connection runs deeper than public perception, recalling shared experiences and mutual respect.

“We used to stay in the same house. The situation with Tiwa Savage was personal because she was a good friend to Sophia,” Davido explained, highlighting the emotional complexity behind the clash.
Despite the controversy, he praised Savage for her impact on the industry, especially for female artists: “Tiwa Savage is my sister for life… She changed the game for females. We are family, and I love her and her child.”
Revealing that the two have since reconnected, he added reassuringly, “She did reach out. I will never allow anything to happen to her.”
