Real Madrid Eye Osimhen as Vinicius Nears €300m Saudi Exit
Spanish football powerhouse Real Madrid is reportedly weighing a sensational summer move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a potential replacement for Vinicius Junior, who is attracting massive interest from the Saudi Pro League.
According to reports, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is open to parting ways with Vinicius amid growing concerns over the Brazilian’s on-field chemistry with incoming star Kylian Mbappe.
However, reports from Fichajes suggest internal discussions around a squad reshuffle intensified after Los Blancos’ shock 3-0 loss to Arsenal in their Champions League quarter-final first leg.
Vinicius, 24, has delivered 104 goals and 77 assists in 308 appearances for the Spanish giants but has recently seen a dip in form. Saudi clubs are reportedly ready to shell out a world-record €300m transfer fee and offer him a staggering €200m-per-season contract over five years.
Should the blockbuster move materialise, Madrid are said to be targeting Osimhen, currently on a red-hot loan spell at Galatasaray, where he has netted 28 goals and five assists in 32 games.
The 26-year-old remains contracted to Napoli, who are reportedly willing to sell him for around €72m to avoid strengthening domestic rivals Juventus.

Osimhen’s potential arrival at the Bernabeu could allow Mbappe to shift into his preferred left-wing role, forming a dynamic new attacking trident.
Real Madrid, however, faces stiff competition from Manchester United, who are believed to have submitted a formal bid. Chelsea have reportedly exited the race, choosing instead to focus on alternative striker targets.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray hope to make Osimhen’s loan move permanent, though the player is said to favour a switch to the Premier League.
Osimhen previously made headlines by spearheading Napoli to their historic 2022/23 Serie A title, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances. His impressive form continues to make him one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.
