President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Professor Idia Nibukun Ize-Iyamu as the new Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), effective August 18, 2025.
She succeeds Professor Darlington Obaseki, who completed a successful tenure.

She led her department for over a decade, earning acclaim for her integrity and leadership. As Dean of the University of Benin’s School of Dentistry, she drove transformative partnerships and infrastructure upgrades.
